About Us

Retreat is a yoga and wellbeing company, welcoming people from all walks of life. This space has been created to host everyone on their journey to wellbeing and happiness with all-ability yoga and mindfulness classes, personal development courses and other elements of wellbeing to help aid with mental state management in every day life and create a home away from home in whatever shape you need it.

The team at Retreat have years of experience working in the mental health industry as well as their own specialisms (yoga, pilates etc) and have come together at Retreat to hold a space that is understanding of whatever way you need to show up – and we are here to help you leave the studio with your cup filled again.

We have a main studio based in the heart of Bolsover, where we host a multitude of classes, workshops, courses, events and retreats for all abilities. Following this, we opened a secondary location in Halfway, where we home hot yoga and pilates.

Hannah

Pilates Instructor

Hannah has a background in ballet, which encompasses over 15 years of training, and led to her love of Pilates. Hannah owns her own studio in Chesterfield, offering small, boutique Pilates classes, and brings her holistic approach to classes to Retreat.

Hannah’s classes blend strength, flexibility, and mindfulness through movement. She believes that exercise should nourish your mind and body, leaving you feeling refreshed and empowered long after you’ve rolled up your mat. Hannah focuses on grounding, affirmations and the mind-body connection with an open and friendly atmosphere that’s suitable for all levels.

Jayne

410 hour Qigong Instructor
Small Universe, Elemental Alchemy and Qigong walking
Reiki Master – Usui Shiki Ryoho

Jayne has an interest in holistic practices and has been offering reiki sessions for over 14 years. After starting her practice and exploring the benefits of Qigong in 2020, this energy practice soon became Jayne’s favourite and she went on to study with Long White Cloud in New Zealand.

Maddie

200 hour Vinyasa/Hatha & 50 hour Yin yoga teacher

Maddie came to yoga as an adult and was struck that what she learnt on the mat, could immensely change her life off the mat. It was this realisation which led Maddie to qualify as a yoga teacher in 2023 and teach regularly ever since.

Maddie’s approach is yoga for mind and body as well as yoga for all and her classes incorporate both playfulness and challenge and are suitable for all levels.
Maddie is also a Transformational Life Coach at Journey On Coaching – exploring what holistic wellbeing looks like for you.
